Borghese Christmas World: A Winter Wonderland in the Heart of Rome

Every winter, the Galoppatoio of Villa Borghese, in the heart of Rome's most famous park, turns into Christmas World, the city's biggest Christmas village. The organisers have confirmed it returns in November 2026; the exact dates and ticket prices for the new edition haven't been announced yet, and we'll update this page as soon as they are.

What is Christmas World?

A Christmas theme park of about 40,000 square metres, with themed villages inspired by Christmas traditions from around the world, lights, shows and food stalls. Last season it counted 11 attractions and around 300 performers. The highlights:

  • The ice rink, about 900 square metres, under a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge;

  • "Il Natale va in scena", an original show on the big stage;

  • themed areas, light installations and a village for children, with Father Christmas;

  • street food and Christmas treats from different countries.

Dates, opening hours and tickets

2026 edition: opens in November 2026, dates to be confirmed.
Last edition: 29 November 2025 to 11 January 2026.

Last season tickets started from around €12.50 for an adult on off-peak days, with a family pack (2 adults + 2 children) from €40. Prices vary by day and time, and weekends and the days around Christmas sell out: buy online in advance on the official Christmas World website.

Where: Galoppatoio, Villa Borghese, Viale del Galoppatoio. The nearest metro stop is Spagna (line A), then a walk up through the park.

Tips for your visit

  • Go on a weekday afternoon to avoid the longest queues, and stay until dark, when the lights come on.

  • Dress warmly: most of the park is outdoors.

  • Make a day of Villa Borghese: in the morning, see Bernini and Caravaggio at the Borghese Gallery (entry is by reservation only, so book ahead, for example with our Borghese Gallery tours), then a walk to the Pincio terrace for the view over Piazza del Popolo.
